Online Poker

Online poker makes playing and learning poker fast and easy for everyone. Online poker games are much faster than regular games, and just as fun. The online poker industry has exploded in the past few years, and well over 100,000 players frequent the online poker rooms. The great software and large number of players has allowed the poker rooms to reduce the rake to about 5% of each pot, which is lower than most regular casinos. Online poker is the best thing that has ever happened to the game of poker and will continue growing in size for many years to come.

As for the legality of online poker, it is legal and regulated in many countries including the U.K. and several nations in the Caribbean. While the United States prohibits online sports betting across state lines, there is no law prohibiting online gambling of any other kind. However, some states have specific laws against online gambling. There is a very gray line regarding the legality of online poker, however, only one person has ever been arrested for playing in the United States and that was because of many other factors (not just online poker).

Online poker could officially become legal very soon. In February 2005, the North Dakota House of Representatives passed a bill to legalize online poker in the State. However, the State Senate defeated the bill in March 2005.
